Get to know ozone
Destroy Coronavirus in your Care Home
Protecting residents from the COVID 19 pandemic is right at the top of every care and nursing home’s agenda. When used correctly, ozone is scientifically proven to kill coronavirus. Indeed, ozone has been used successfully across the care sector to minimise the threat to the sick and elderly.
Nara Medical University Report
Social media is awash with false claims about killing the virus causing COVID-19. We prefer to put our trust in science. Which is why we were so pleased to read the news announced from the Nara Medical University in Japan.
Viruses and bacteria
Ozone is exceptionally good at tackling harmful bacteria and stopping it dead. Because of ozone’s highly reactive properties, it means that it simply reacts with the bacteria and destroys it.
Are ozone generators and air purifiers safe?
Yes, entirely safe when used correctly and in line with our operating instructions. Ozofresh generators are designed and built to specifically avoid any health risks that might be present in other machines.
What is norovirus?
Norovirus has been a much publicised problem due to how highly contagious it is, especially in busy and warm environments, such as hospitals and nursing homes. It leaves the sufferer feeling extremely unwell for 24-60 hours with projectile vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, stomach cramps, fever and muscle pain.
What is ozone?
Ozone consists of three adjoined oxygen atoms, and is therefore referred to as O3, in the same way that oxygen (O2) consists of two oxygen atoms. Ozone is not very prominent in our atmosphere yet it plays a vital role in our day-to-day lives. It is invisible although when concentrated enough it takes on a blue tinge.
WIll ozone remove all odours?
Yes. Currently there are no known odours that ozone won’t help to dissipate. If you come across an odour that is proving particularly difficult to remove, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Why use ozone?
Ozone's unique ability lies not only in its extraordinary strong sterilizing power but also in the way it is structured as a gas.
When was ozone first discovered?
Ozone was first officially discovered in 1839/40, however in 1785 ozone was first noticed when a scientist called Van Marum carried out experiments into electrolysis.
Ozone generators and the ozone layer
The only differences between ozone formed in the ozone layer and ozone formed in one of our ozone generators is the location, how the ozone is produced and lifespan.
